I’m a massive fan of the Acratech Ball heads and have been promoting how good they are for years!

The reason I prefer them over every ball head I have used is the rotating ball function and lever system they use to lock your camera in. This system is much safer and easier to use than the the little twisty knobs other systems use.

Acratech has a lever system that makes it quick and easy to take your camera on and off the tripod. In cold weather when my fingers loose feeling the little twisty knobs are near impossible to use but Acratech’s lever system works easily every time. Plus, there is no plate slippage which is the most annoying thing in the world when you have lined your shot up and realise the camera is moving because those annoying little screws that hold the plate to the camera aren’t tight enough.

Tripods and ball heads are one item of equipment you should invest in. I reccomend getting a good one first time round otherwise you will end up buying a few cheaper ones until you realise you should have just spent the money in the first place.

When you buy one of these ball heads the cost is quickly forgotten when it works so well each and every time.
